The advanced search offers options to make a more precise search and produce hits with better relevance.
A brief breakdown of the options available:
Find pages
Combine search phrases to produce a more fine grain search pattern.
- "all these words"
The search will match content items that contains all words specified (this is the default search behavior of Incentive). E.g. interim report would show content items that contains the word interim and report. - "this exact wording or phrase"
This is used to search for a series of words in a specific order. E.g. interim report 2008 would produce a search result with content that matches all words specified in the order specified. - "one or more of these words"
Use this option to find items that contains at least one of the words specified. E.g. interim report would list content items that contains either interimor report. - "any of these unwanted words"
Enter the words that should not be present in the result. This option is only applicable when any of the above options are specified. E.g. interim removes all hits in the result that contains the word interim.
Date
Use the drop down list to narrow your search to content items created in a particular time frame.
Filter
Use the filter to narrow your search based on content location and/or content type.
- All, Wiki Central, Blog Space
Select which locations should be included in your search. All searches in both Wiki Central and Blog Space. - Article, Blog, Post, Comments, Files, Profiles
Select which (one or more) content types that should be included in the search result.
Note that depending on which location you have chosen some items are not possible to select.
